Shakespeare Theatre CompanyBrand identity, website design
2021

Established in 1970 in Washington DC, the Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) presents high-quality classic productions across various genres. The newly appointed Artistic Director, Simon Godwin, aims to introduce STC to a new generation of audiences by offering thought-provoking representations of classical archetypes.

The identity design is centred around the concept of “interplay”, highlighting the dynamic between old and new, classical and innovative. This is manifested through the combination of both sans-serif and serif styles from the Arizona family by Dinamo typeface.

The use of pitch-shifting animated colour filters in branded content offers a fresh alternative to photography, unifying a variety of images under one brand voice.

The STC website, a crucial connection point between the theatre content and the audience, has been redesigned to meet contemporary needs. Its responsive modular design allows for impactful use of large images.
