The exhibition commences with a video wall tunnel displaying footage that highlights Kubrick's distinctive use of single-point perspective framing, serving as a symbolic gateway into the intricately layered and thought-provoking realm of storytelling.
Upon entry, visitors are ushered into a central 'backstage' room brimming with production intricacies, encompassing research, planning, and sketches. The exhibition unfolds in a linear yet disorienting fashion, mirroring the narrative complexity and thematic depth prevalent in Kubrick's works.
Each stage of the journey is marked by distinct typographic titles and colour palettes from his films, providing a canvas for visitors to delve into the nuanced details of each production through the juxtaposition of visuals, models, prototypes, quotations, costumes, and video clips. With a record-breaking 169,000 visitors, the exhibition stands as the most popular in the museum's history.
